Google says 1 billion people use mobile to access the Internet
Remember that whole thing about “The Transparent Web” and about our completely connected, always on, totally tethered society? You know where that’s coming from?
Here’s where:
“…[M]obile search usage has nearly 100% penetration among smartphone owners, most of whom search at least once a week. [Emphasis mine]”
That’s Google sharing data on mobile search and consumers’ overall mobile usage. Also worth noting?
“More than 1 billion people will use mobile devices as their primary internet access point.”
That’s billion. With a “B.” Yes, lots of those folks are in Asia and in Africa. But lots are right around the corner from you, too, shopping in your competitor’s store or sitting in a parking lot or maybe sitting in your lobby looking for someplace nearby that solves their problem.
More importantly, they’re finding someone who solves their problem. Why isn’t it you?
