The Top thinks Blog Posts of 2010
Ready for the New Year? I know I am. But, before we kick off 2011, here’s a look back at the top e-commerce and online marketing posts on thinks in 2010. Enjoy!
Top Small Business E-commerce Posts
- Our “Small Business E-commerce Link Digests” are always popular. And this one about “How to Grow Traffic Now” was among your favorites last year.
- Lots of you also enjoyed this post on “4 Unconventional Tips to Improve Your Online Business Strategy.”
- The post “Is It Time to Shut Down Your Small Business Blog?” was among the most well-liked blogging entries.
- Another popular post last year asked “How Easy Is It to Set Up Your Own Website? And Even If It Is, Should You Do It?”
- Given how often people visit our small business hosting reviews, it’s no surprise how many of you checked out this post about how “WordPress Trumps Weebly, Squarespace and Yola For Moving Your Site.”
- And while we’re on the topic of websites, this post looking at “5 Basic Steps to Improve Your Website” gained lots of love, too.
Top Analytics Posts
- You know I’m a huge fan of measurements and metrics. And you must be one, too. By far, the single most visited post in any day last year (and ever since) is this one looking at “Why Google Analytics Always Belongs in Your Measurement Consideration Set.”
- Another very popular post was our “Ultimate A/B Testing Case Study Roundup.”
- Many of you also liked this look at “What’s the Best Tool to Measure Your Website”
- And our “Awesome Actionable Analytics Roundup” proved very popular among Big Thinkers everywhere.
Top Search Marketing Posts
- Google appears again and again here on thinks. And, no wonder, given how many of you liked “Can You Be Smarter Than Google? Not for Long, It Seems.”
- Search also shows up in our “Small Business E-commerce Link Digests,” too, such as this highly-favored one looking at “Some Search Basics.”
- Late in the year, I started writing for Mike Moran’s Biznology blog. And my first post for Mike, “How to Get Your CEO to Say Y-E-S to SEO” was a big winner all around.
Top Guest Posts
- In 2010, thinks opened its doors to some great guest posters. And you seem to approve. Both Maureen Page’s “3 Tips for How to Use Videos to Promote Your Business” and Dimitri Onistsuk from Shopify’s “Jumpstart E-Commerce Sales With These 5 Easy Tips” were very well received
Top Book Reviews
- One of my favorite hobbies is reading. And it must be one of yours, too. My review of “Different: Escaping the Competitive Herd” by Youngme Moon was the top-visited “Book Review of the Week-ish” post, followed by…
- “Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us” by Daniel Pink
- “Rocket Surgery Made Easy” by Steve Krug
- And “The thinks 2010 Business Book Gift Guide: 10 Great Books to Give This Holiday Season” ended the year on a high note.
Top Social Media Posts
- All the changes in Facebook were top of mind for many of you, which probably explains the popularity of this post: “Facebook’s “Like” for the Web: Who Likes It? Who Doesn’t?”
- And “how-to’s” are always a hit, such as these “5 Ways to Put Social to Work for Your Business.”
- Another popular “how-to” was our look at “7 Strong Small Business Social Tactics.”
- And you really seemed to enjoy this look at “The Forgotten Social Network.”
Thank you all for making last year the best year ever for thinks. I’m looking forward to a great 2011. However, I’m still going to work from last year’s “5 New Year’s Resolutions We Can All Live With.” They seem like as good a place as any to start from, no?
Happy New Year, Big Thinkers! Get ready for an awesome 2011!
