The only to-do list that matters
What’s the most important thing on your to-do list today? Which of those things is going to really move the needle, increase customer satisfaction, drive more business? Do you know? No? Then why bother that list? Tear it up. Throw it away.
Seriously.
I’ll wait.
Done?
Good.
Now, you need to write down the following question:
“What would it look like if my customers were satisfied, if I was exceeding my goals, if I was truly happy in my work?”
Got it?
Now answer that question. Take your time. It’s an important one.
Once you’ve got your answer, read it to yourself. Read it aloud. Show your friends, your colleagues, your partner. Seriously, if that’s what you want to do, why not share it? Get excited about it.
Then ask yourself, “What’s the first step to getting there?” Write that down. Then the next step. And the next.
That’s your to-do list. The rest is just details.
