Screw Google, or Why I hate SEO…

Whatever happened to optimizing sites for your users? It seems we get so hung up on whether or not Google loves us, that we forget it’s more important for our users to love us. Pay more attention to Customer Experience Optimization (CEO) than Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Yes, we’ll be tougher to find if we don’t show up tops in Google; but, the theory goes, if you take care of your customers, Google will show you the love eventually. As will your customers. And in this age of social media, that may count for more than Google – at least over time.
