Google, Yelp, Social, Mobile, Local. The mind reels. (Small Business E-commerce Link Digest – December 18, 2009)
Google is (maybe) talking about buying Yelp. I’ve been a Yelp fan for a long time and think they offer a good glimpse into the future of the social, mobile, local web. After all, it’s no secret that I’m bullish on the long-term potential of the mobile web. Or the short-term, for that matter. Now on to this week’s links:
- TechCrunch broke the news that Google is interested in Yelp. And GigaOm has a great analysis of the potential acquisition. Cnet offers some interesting thoughts, too.
- Meanwhile, Jeff Jarvis sees a larger pattern in Google’s recent moves (as do I) and lays out a thoughtful look at what Google’s recent moves signify.
