Why your business needs a Google Place Page
Are you using Google’s Place Pages for your small business? A few months ago, David Mihm and I got into a discussion about whether you should use a Google Place Pages as your sole web presence. And, even though I argue against doing that (for the record, so does David), I still think you should have one.
Now, Frank Reed has a great post looking at why Google Place Pages are critical for business success:
“People who are accessing their mobile devices while actually out doing something are interested in maps and establishments reviews. They are looking to buy and they are making decisions on the fly. If they are looking to Google to access maps and establishment reviews (which 70% of searchers do and I bet dollars to donuts that 70% contains the best prospects as well) then they are going to encounter a Place Page for a business.
If that page is not optimized that business could lose.” (Emphasis mine)
With few exceptions, Place Pages should be an important part of your online marketing strategy. As I mentioned at the time:
“…the information displayed on your Google Place page offers great insights into the information you should display on your own site. Remember, Google wouldn’t show this information if people weren’t searching for it.“

One should register the business in the Google places and location in the maps as these sometimes comes on the top while searching for that keyword.
