5 Fantastic Hospitality Marketing Insights for the Week Ahead: Hospitality Marketing Link Digest

No real setup this week, Big Thinkers. Just a quick round-up of 5 fantastic hospitality marketing insights for the week ahead for you to enjoy. So, um… enjoy:

  1. Skift offers a preview of Expedia Media Solutions’ e-book that shows how marketers are using video to influence travel decisions. Despite recent criticisms of Expedia around these parts (see below if you’re not sure what that’s all about), it still offers excellent insights about mobile video, one of 2016’s top trends.
  2. Of course, plenty of other trends exist that you must understand. This new Sabre study outlines the key mega-trends shaping travel marketing as does this presentation about “Digital Marketing Directions 2016: Key Trends Driving Your Hotel Marketing Next Year”:
  3. For an example of those trends in action, Gravity CEO Yuriy Boykiv explains on Mobile Commerce Daily why luxury is meaningless, or why millennials want more than just a brand that’s particularly relevant for hotel marketers.
  4. I alluded to it before, but this recent post, “OTA’s vs. Chain Brands: Expedia Comes Out Swinging” provides the full details of what’s going on with Expedia these days and is required reading for any hotel professional.
  5. And, to round-out this week’s list, be sure to check out these 6 super hospitality marketing posts, a hugely popular entry from the Hospitality Marketing Link Digest series.

If you’re looking to learn even more about how changing guest behavior shapes hospitality marketing, e-commerce, and distribution, be sure an register to receive a special report I’ve produced in conjunction with hotel marketing firm Vizergy, “Digital Hotel Marketing in a Multiscreen World.” While it’s targeted specifically at hotel and resort marketers, the lessons apply to just about any business.
