  1. Alex Samuely at Mobile Commerce Daily recaps a presentation from eBay’s chief marketing officer Suzy Deering that said mobile innovation enhances transactions and research capabilities for customers.
  2. Over on The Future of Commerce, Angelica Valentine put together these 5 elements of a memorable mobile customer experience that you’ll want to review.
  3. On Business Insider, the BI Intelligence group warns that digital mobile banking apps now threaten branches while another Business Insider post claims that the rise of reloadable prepaid cards could affect the way millennials approach banking. Both are real bad news for banks that don’t evolve — as well as for businesses that sell their services to those banks.
  4. Another Mobile Commerce Daily post, this one from Brielle Jaekel, reports that Starbucks’ mobile ordering program drives 20% of transactions during peak hours. Um, wow. Given that Starbucks generated around $5 billion last quarter, that’s a ton of mobile business. Just sayin’.
  5. I’m also just sayin’ you should check out these 8 excellent social and mobile e-commerce essays that looks at the relationship between commerce, mobile and social in more detail, as well as these >6 awesome insights about mobile payments, e-commerce and even more.
  6. In fact, if the folks at Juniper Research are right, Digital commerce transactions will reach over $8 T by 2020 as reported by Enterprise Innovation, in large part driven by mobile.
  7. One emerging trend worth watching in mobile is the emergence of messaging and, in particular, messaging bots. Not sure what that’s all about? Combined with the items above, it should help you understand why i’m bullish on mobile payments and messaging.
  8. One big winner from the growth of mobile and mobile messaging? Facebook. In fact, I’m increasingly convinced it’s Facebook’s world and we’re all living in it. I’m also convinced that mobile won’t just change marketing; mobile will change the world — and after checking out all of this week’s list above, you may be as well.
