Just links, links and more links (Small Business E-commerce Link Digest – June 18, 2010)

I’ve been doing this too much lately, but here’s another round of reads from the community related only by how interesting I find ’em. Hopefully, you will, too. Now, on with the show:

• Emarketer has a good write-up of the online shopping habits of the social set. Money quote:
  

  “…research from comScore shows that visitors to Facebook and Twitter spend more money on the Web than Internet users. On average, Web users purchased less than $50 worth of goods online in Q1 2010.

  On Facebook, the visitors who spend the most time on the site also spend the most dollars on online shopping, with an average of $67 in spending for the top 20% of visitors.”

  So, that’s pretty good, isn’t it?

• If that wasn’t enough, Jennifer Van Grove on American Express’ Open Forum has some great thoughts on why small businesses shouldn’t take social media for granted.
• Clickz has a good look at 10 easy calls to action. I particularly like the idea of selling the benefit in the call-to-action instead of just describing the action. Coolness.
• And finally, BNET offers a good look at a small business website (done in WordPress, no less) that meets the needs of a small business owner. Good stuff. Maybe they read my small business blogging series?
